Benin – The Webometrics Ranking of
World Universities carried out in July has placed the University of Benin
(UNIBEN) first in Nigeria and 31st in Africa.
The ranking was contained in a
statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of UNIBEN, Mr Harris Osarenre,
and made available on Saturday in Benin.
The statement said that the Federal
Polytechnic, Auchi, came second while the University of Ibadan came third in
the ranking.
It also said that UNIBEN took the
lead in the Webometrics ranking in January this year.
However, the statement did not
mention the criteria used in the ranking.
“Prof. Osayuki Oshodi, the Vice
Chancellor of UNIBEN strives to make the institution the best in the country,”
