Dear Mr. President,
Sir, it is with great
sense of disappointment that I write you this letter. Like many others, I`d hoped that your election would bring a
salutary change of direction to the country and that you will deliver the true
dividends of democracy to the people going by the gospel of transformation you
preached during your campaign coupled with your innocent look.
Everyone had thought that the messiah has come
to Nigeria and majority could not just wait to give you their mandates which
they did.
However, I have keenly
observed that you have in turned paid evil for good to Nigerians who gave you
their mandates.
Though I cannot credibly
blame you for the sociopolitical and economic mess that you inherited from your
predecessors but then even the polices response under your watch have been
profligate and largely ineffectual and also your attitude and response so far
towards some vital issues that is germane to the economical growth of this
nation, such as, response towards corrupt cases, as not really shown that you
are ready for that TRANSFORMATION
you yelled.
The fuel subsidy saga
still remains a gaping wound for most Nigerians who are yet to fully recover
from the shock it brought on them. You claimed that siphoning of fuel subsidy
fund by members of a powerful and well known oil cartel also known as cabals is
one of the reasons for the removal of fuel subsidy. Yet, you still live and
dine with these men daily and no justice has been brought on them.
Well, away from that; though,
I might not have been a president of a country before and might not have held
any Public political post before but I know what is best for my country and I
know, watch and read what happens in other countries.
I will just briefly awaken
your consciousness to my take on Malala`s visit.
After the adoption of the
Chibok girls on April 14th 2014 by the Islamic extremist group- Boko
Haram, different campaign groups championed the course for their freedom with
the hash tag #BringBackOurGirls.
The activities of these
well meaning and patriotic Nigerians to bring about the release and freedom of
these girls were not recognised by you but were rather seen as an act of
opposition.
The leadership of the
#BringBackOurGirls group in Nigeria has requested to see you and that you meet
with the parents of the abducted girls on several occasions but it`s so
unfortunate that you turned deaf ears to their yearnings and didn’t grant their
request.
Dear Mr. President, it is
an act of hypocrisy for you to grant the same request from a foreigner which
was not there when we voted you. As our leader you have the responsibility of
granting our request and placing us first above any foreigner irresponsible of
whom the person might be.
You are in the midst of so
many cronies that influence your judgements and decisions. Most of these men
are grossly greedy, selfish and heartless.
They will always do
anything and everything possible to influence your judgments and decisions for
their personal gains. But Dear Mr. President, always remember that you have the
final say and at the end of the day, you will always be responsible for
whatsoever happens under your watch, irrespective of the roles you played.
Putting Nigeria first
above everything is the least thing you can do for us as a nation.
It would have been nice if
you had listened to Nigerian first before listen to strangers.
We voted for you and not
her, we`re not against her visit, but we are against the fact that you treated us like strangers in our own land and
treated stranger like princess at our own detriment.
Nigerians deserves an
apology from you on this and it will just be fair of you if you did.
Thank you Malala for coming
to our country and for being part of the #BringBackOurGirls struggle.
Of course Sir, I would
have said more but I wouldn`t want to consume much of your time on this so that
you can also attend to other pressing issues.
Yours Sincerely.
