YOU AND YOUR POTENTIALS

The poorest person in the world is the person without dream. The most frustrated person in the world is the person with a dream that never becomes reality. Emphatically, every individual on this planet, regardless of race, culture, nationality or socio-economic status, has had a dream of some sort whether we were born in the bush/village of an underdeveloped part of his country or amid the marble floors of the aristocracy of the society, we all have childhood dreams, which are visual manifestation of our purpose, seeds of destiny planted in the soil of our imagination.

It is a fact that every manufacturer makes a product to fulfill specific purpose, with an inbuilt ability to fulfill it. In essence, the potential of a product is determined by its purpose. Potential is an unexposed ability, reserved power, untapped strength, capped capabilities, unused success, dormant gifts, hidden talents, latent power etc. It is the sum of who you are that you are yet to reveal.
Having ability is good but making good use of ability is bad, and when potential is untapped it becomes useless and worthless. The graveyards are full of great men and women who never became great because they did not give their ability responsibility. Little wonder the world groans because there are yet to be fulfilled potentials wasting away.
Although we are capable of much more than we had already done unless we expose our potentials it will be aborted. Abortion one of today`s controversial issues is not limited to the physical termination of pregnancy, it is also the ignorance of responsibility and the denial of obligation. The abortion of our responsibilities is responsible for some of the challenges we are facing in the world today. Pitiably, so many have sacrificed their potentials for low self esteem, excuse making, high indulgence in vices such as corruption, complacency towards life building skills, sexual atrocities, the use of psycho active substances, wrong companion, adoption of unfulfilled mentors and role models amongst others. Where do you belong? It’s time to turn away from the beautiful gate of despondency and face the reality of life because living with ability brings responsibility.
