Chibokgirls` Release and The Ceasefire Scam! By Ogundana Michael Rotimi

Ogundana Michael Rotimi
It is my wish that this piece was a congratulatory and welcoming speech for the Chibok girls and a new dawn to the peaceful coexistence in Nigeria after the federal government raised our hopes in an acclaimed ceasefire with the violent sect and a possible release of the chibok girls.
After immense pressure from both local and international concerned fellows, most especially from the campaigners of the bring back our girls group, and following the need to impress the public towards getting their vote in the upcoming elections, the federal government had no choice than to prove to the people that she was indeed concerned about the release of the chibok girls, kidnapped by the violent Boko Haram sect about six months ago.

Nigeria: The Spectacular Success Story By Ogundana Michael Rotimi

Ogundana Michael Rotimi
Repeating the stories involving how the Ebola Virus Disease got into our country might not be much necessary for the message this piece is intended to pass across.
However, in summary, Nigeria had 19 cases of Ebola after an infected Liberian-American man named Patrick Sawyer flew into Lagos on 20th July 2014, and collapsed at the airport. Health care workers treating Sawyer were infected, and as it spread it ultimately killed eight people, a low number next to the thousands of cases and deaths in other countries.

Dear Buhari, Don’t Mind the Polls You Have Not Arrived! By Ogundana Michael Rotimi

As at the time you will be reading this piece, it is my uttermost desire that the Chibok Girls abducted six months ago by the violent Boko Haram sect would have been freed up. The hope for their release was brought alive on 17th October 2014 when the Federal Government, through the Nigerian military, said that it had agreed to a ceasefire deal with the ferocious sect and that the Chibok girls would be released soon. The deal was announced by the Chief of Defence Staff; Air Marshal Alex Badeh.

Nigeria: The Need For Visionary Leaders! By Ogundana Michael Rotimi

If you live in your own doubts and underestimate what men of vision can do and achieve, this quote is for you: “Some believe there is nothing one man or one woman can do against the enormous array of the world's ills -- against misery, against ignorance, or injustice and violence. Yet many of the world's great movements, of thought and action, have flowed from the work of a single man. A young monk began the Protestant reformation, a young general extended an empire from Macedonia to the borders of the earth, and a young woman reclaimed the territory of France. It was a young Italian explorer who discovered the New World, and 32 year old Thomas Jefferson who proclaimed that all men are created equal. ‘Give me a place to stand,’ said Archimedes, ‘and I will move the world.’ These men moved the world.” -Robert F. Kennedy

Mbu And His Many Controversies By Ogundana Michael Rotimi

“If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” ― George Orwell
If there is something so special and interesting about democracy that the people cherish the most it is Basic Human Rights. This includes freedom of speech that is the right to freedom of opinion and expression.
Over 14 years, Nigeria left Military dispensation and moved on to the path of democracy but it is a pity that in a democratic set up of ours where freedom of speech is meant to be protected, granted and sustained, that is where it’s been abused and bastardized.

Nigeria @54: The Great News! By Ogundana Michael Rotimi

Nigeria, so many things have been said about you. You are arguably the most controversial country on earth, only few people have said something good and great about you.
Your case is just like the case of the biblical Nazareth- can any good thing come out of Nazareth said the people, but indeed something great and awesome came out of Nazareth.
You have been shattered and your name has been dragged in mud. Countries that are supposed to look up on you, have looked down on you. Even your inhabitants do not believe in you any longer.
